| Immediately after the 2nd World War a number of churches,in different cities, started broadcasting a Protestant service via local radios. From 1967 onwards, a service has been broadcast on a national level, prepared and operated by the Italian Federation of Protestant Churches (FCEI). Il Culto Radio (The Protestant Radio Service), regulated by a special agreement with the RAI (Italian equivalent of the BBC), is broadcast on the lst channel every Sunday morning at 7.30.
The preaching is carried out in rotation by the pastors and lay preachers of the different church denominations. This is followed by news from the Protestant world and, alternately, by feature programmes; one is entitled "A fact, a comment", and the other "Let’s discuss it together", during which letters from listeners are answered. The texts of these two programmes are printed by the Protestant weekly, Riforma.
A bulletin with full texts of the Bible messages broadcasted has been printed every fortnight since 1960.
