| Protestant Hospital of Genoa recipient of award
The International Evangelical Hospital (OEI) of Genoa was selected among health structures for "feminine excellence" by the National Observer on the Health of Women (ONDA) in the sector of "hospital for women", a project aimed at identifying hospitals that are forerunners in the care for women. During the award ceremony in Rome those hospitals that have the required requisites were given pink emblems that attest to their achievements for the health of women.
The OEI, assigned two such emblems, has developed special services in helping mothers in the various steps during their pregnancies and after, with personalized care such as home visits of obstetricians after hospital dismissal, support in breast feeding as individuals and in groups. Other activities that the OEI dedicates to women are in cancer prevention and rehabilitation.
The OEI is also a forerunner in administration with a significant number of women among the hospital staff starting from the very top. President of the OEI, Cristina Ageno, said: "It is our intention to carry out in our hospital those aspects that are typical of feminine management: transparency, concreteness, rigor, attention to human relations, constant communication with the territory and its institutions."
