The Waldensian Cultural Centre was founded in 1989 during the third centenary celebrations of the return of the Waldensian exiles to Piedmont. (Glorioso Rimpatrio) The intention of the Waldensian community in carrying out this project was to put together the data concerning their rich cultural heritage which had been built up through the centuries, and to allow a more extensive public to enjoy the same. Set up as an Association in 1991, the Centre is on the premises of what was formerly the Waldensian boarding school. It houses the following:
the Waldensian library which has about 86.000 books, 900 finished periodicals, 165 in current circulation, 250 sixteenth-century volumes, 550 seventeenth-century volumes, 1.500 Bibles. It is a reference point for the student of Protestant history and theology as well as for the history of Italian Protestantism.
the Museum, founded in 1889 and refurbished in 1939, 1974 and 1989, has two sections: historical and ethnographical.

On the same premises are:
The Waldensian Society for Studies, founded in 1881, equipped with an excellent library and interesting archives. The Society, which has promoted studies on Waldism for more than a century, publishes a journal and a periodical - "La Beidana, culture and history of the Waldensian Valleys" - monographs, annual conferences and research.
The Archives of the Waldensian, Methodist and Baptist churches and those of Protestant women are kept in the Historical Archives of the Waldensian Board.
